snowball_downhillIf you invested in good companies and they are still good companies hang in there remember if you sell that is a decision and then you must decide when and at what price to buy. Growing a portfolio takes time, time in the market not out of it. Reinvest those dividends and watch your portfolio grow like a snowball rolling down hill.

THE MAGIC BANK ACCOUNT

THE AUTHOR IS NOT KNOWN. IT WAS FOUND IN THE BILLFOLD OF COACH PAUL BEAR BRYANT, ALABAMA, AFTER HE DIED IN 1982

The Magic Bank Account

Imagine that you had won the following *PRIZE* in a contest: Each morning
your bank would deposit $86,400 in your private account for your use.
However, this prize has rules:

The set of rules:
1. Everything that you didn’t spend during each day would be taken away
from you.
2. You may not simply transfer money into some other account.
3. You may only spend it.
4. Each morning upon awakening, the bank opens your account with another
$86,400 for that day.
5. The bank can end the game without warning; at any time it can say, Game
Over!”. It can close the account and you will not receive a new one.

What would you personally do?

You would buy anything and everything you wanted right? Not only for
yourself, but for all the people you love and care for. Even for people you
don’t know, because you couldn’t possibly spend it all on yourself, right?

You would try to spend every penny, and use it all, because you knew it
would be replenished in the morning, right?

ACTUALLY, This GAME is REAL …
Shocked ??? ……..YES!

Each of us is already a winner of this *PRIZE*. We just can’t seem to see it.
The PRIZE is *TIME*

1. Each morning we awaken to receive 86,400 seconds as a gift of life.
2. And when we go to sleep at night, any remaining time is Not credited to us.
3. What we haven’t used up that day is forever lost.
4. Yesterday is forever gone.
5. Each morning the account is refilled, but the bank can dissolve your
account at any time WITHOUT WARNING…

SO, what will YOU do with your 86,400 seconds?

Those seconds are worth so much more than the same amount in dollars.
Think about it and remember to enjoy every second of your life, because time
races by so much quicker than you think.

So take care of yourself, be happy, love deeply and enjoy life!
Here’s wishing you a wonderful and beautiful day. Start spending….

SOME PEOPLE DON’T GET THE PRIVILEGE!’

Scary Market

October 14th, 2014 Posted in Business, Finance Tips

business-time-11291126308C1YOK yes the market is acting scary but don’t panic! Just consider it a sale where you might get a good buy on something you have been wanting. Yes tomorrow it might be cheaper but then again it could be more expensive. We don’t always get to buy what we want at the lowest price but with proper research a fair and reasonable price.

The Simple Dollar

Our work has been carried by some of the country’s top media outlets, including Forbes, CNN, and US News & World Report. We recently published a free online guide to financial independence for women that I believe has a lot to offer your members and others in your local community.

Our guide is designed to provide women with a thorough, step-by-step introduction to securing and maintaining financial independence. We worked hard to produce a guide that introduces all the basics while also delivering expert insight and practical budgeting, spending, and saving tips that women can use to make a real difference in their financial lives. I think our guide can serve as a valuable resource for club members, while also aligning closely with your efforts to improve your local community.

Take a look at our work here: <http://www.thesimpledollar.com/guide-to-financial-independence-for-women>

We start by introducing the special challenges that many women face when it comes to building a strong financial foundation. For example, the average woman spends 12 fewer years in the full-time workforce than the average man, primarily due to child-rearing responsibilities and a greater reliance on part-time work. Women also enjoy a longer average life expectancy than men, creating a greater need for savings to fund a longer retirement. These and other challenges mean that women must take special care to begin laying the groundwork for true financial independence as early as possible.

Our guide – which is completely free and instantly accessible to anyone – then goes on to cover the basics of cash flow analysis and household budgeting, two fundamental skills that are critical to maintaining financial independence over the long run. We also break down the key strategies women can use to deal with debt and save for retirement successfully.

Jump to the section of our guide that details saving strategies here: <http://www.thesimpledollar.com/guide-to-financial-independence-for-women/#step-4-save>

While this guide is one of our newest productions, universities and professional associations are already linking to it and our other guides as trusted resources. Here are some examples:
