How many financial institutions do you use?

January 15th, 2014 Posted in Business, Finance Tips

imagesDo you know how many financial institutions you do business with? It might be more then you realize. There is your local bank, credit cards from stores, an old retirement plan and maybe a new retirement plan. How about your broker and if you have an IRA. Maybe a joint account with an elderly parent or a child. It is a good idea to look at these accounts and see if maybe you can consolidate them for ease of record keeping for the coming year.

Remember what Albert Einstein said…

Albert_Einstein_1947aRemember what Albert Einstein said about imagination. “It points to all we might yet discover and create.” Now is an excellent time of the year to look at your portfolio and imagine where it will be in the time frame that you have chosen. Don’t worry about the predictions for the ups and downs of the market. Generally 99% of them are wrong. A stopped clock is correct twice a day. Do what you need to do to get to where you want to be, not what someone else says you should do.

Here in Central Florida it is on channel 15.1 at 8 am if you are using an antenna. Sit and watch it with your children or record it, for viewing later.butterflyanimation-11

December 4th, 2013 Posted in Business, Finance Tips

healthcare_0Sometimes we need to get out of our comfort zones and take a chance. I stopped following instructions and started from scratch on the healthcare website. It took me three hours and ten minutes from start till I had the first months premium paid. Perseverance is the name of the game, and lots of patience. Remember you must pay the first months premium to be enrolled. I recommend you print everything they send you just to be on the safe side and put it in a safe place.

Psychology of Money

November 19th, 2013 Posted in Business, Finance Tips

writingI was recently at an investors conference. One of the major themes was psychology and how you react to what is going on around you. What I find helps sometimes is to write down what is going on in my life and how I feel about it BEFORE I make a decision. This seems to help me make an intelligent decision, rather then an emotional one. Remember you don’t have to be right, you just need to make money. Try thinking to what use you are going to put the money
