Gemini Springs Youth Celebration of the Arts

March 8th, 2013 Posted in Girl Stuff, Local Events

Tomorrow at Gemini Springs Park- don’t miss the FREE Youth Celebration of the Arts!

Youth Celebration is a jam packed festival that’s for and about youth and families. Gateway Center for the Arts invites you to be a part of the fun that makes it such a success year after year.

YCA is a free youth festival that showcases the visual and performing talents of our youth and is an annual production of Gateway Center for the Arts.

For the enjoyment of festival goers, a variety of mediums, such as pottery, weaving, basket making, painting on easels, Jackson Pollock splatter paint, etc., spreads over the park. Hands-on make and take art experiences for children and parents are provided by Gateway Center for the Arts, not for profit groups, and local businesses. A favorite hands-on activity is watching parents build a sculpture out of cardboard and tape with their youth.

Gemini Springs park is located at 37 Dirksen Drive, DeBary, FL 32713

Afternoon Cruise on the St. Johns River

January 29th, 2013 Posted in Local Events

If you live in the Orange City Florida area and would like to meet the women of the Village Improvement Association Orange City Woman’s Club, we would love for you to join us. Here are all the details from our president Priscilla Ballasy:

For our February meeting we will be taking a tour on the St.Johns River.  We will meet at the church parking lot at 12:15 on Thursday, February 7th so that we may car pool.  From there we will proceed to Blue Springs Manatee Park where we will board a pontoon boat for our 2 hour narrated tour.  The cost is $18.00 per person and I am opening this up to guest as well.  It will cost $6 to enter the park so if you car pool with someone, please offer $1 each to help the driver with the entry fee.  The hostesses for our meeting day will be bringing snacks and things for us to nibble on while we tour the river.  If you commit to this and then do not attend, you will still owe the $18 so please make a final commitment.  Please call Priscilla at 774-0288 if you plan on attending.
