business-time-11291126308C1YWhen opening an account at a financial institution we should always ask about fees. Don’t be like me and forget about fees to close an account when you no longer need it. Check fees to open and close plus any fees you may incur on a monthly or annual basis. This from Jim Pearce “How we respond to the fear of the unknown is more important than attempting to know it.”

changeSince this is the beginning of a new year why not try something new. Automate your saving and investing, this way you will not miss what you never had. Have a given amount transferred on a specific day of the month from your checking to savings, or an investment account. Perhaps change a deposit from checking to savings. If you still work and draw Social Security have the Social Security check deposited to a savings account, if you desperately need the money you can always with draw just what is needed.

Well it is the end of the year and time to check your financial house. Don’t be like the person at my gym that hasn’t been there in two(2) years and still has not cancelled their membership ($240 dollars wasted). Check your debit card, credit card and checking account statement to make sure you are not paying for a service or membership you no longer need or use. It is your money and your life don’t waste either one. There are no reruns or returns

Save Automatically

December 9th, 2014 Posted in Money Saving Tips

presentNeed help saving why not try automatic saving. Pick a date during the month and have a set amount of money transferred from your checking to a savings account or any account where it can sit and accumulate. I do this with online banking I picked a date and an amount to transfer. All I have to do is make sure I make the appropriate entry into my check book register, it is just like paying a bill. You might want to check with your discount broker about sending it to an account where you can make purchases without incurring a fee.
