Make a Habit of It

save your money

Saving is like dieting it is not a one time thing. It is a way of life. It takes a lot of work but is well worth it once you get the hang of it. Don’t be like the man who just told me he had been retired but gave it up because he ran out of money.

Save Automatically!

If you are having a problem saving, try setting up an automatic deposit to your savings account. Either split your deposit of your pay check if allowed or set up a deposit from checking to savings where you bank. Try to find more then one purpose for things you already own. I found how to make pencil holders from old floppies. The internet is just full of all kinds of ideas.

OwlUnderMoonThe Coffee House at the Deltona Art Center is hosting a sampling of Deltona’s talents on Fridays from 7-11pm. Come, relax, enjoy some light refreshments and the local talent will entertain you all for just $4 entry fee which inclides coffee, tea or lemonade & light snacks.  Other drinks available for 50 cents.  Alcohol free night!

Beware of coupons!

If it is a product that you use the coupon might be worthwhile, but if it is something you would not usually buy don’t buy it just to use the coupon. We often get sucked into making purchases for things we really don’t need. I try to make a list, only go shopping when it is absolutely necessary and think before I buy. Many times things that we already have can be remade or reused. Example while cleaning out I found a number of old floppies, I looked on the internet and found a number of things you can do with them instead of just throwing them away. Think before you buy and give re-purposing a try!
